Why Vote NO on the Marriage Amendment

The Marriage Amendment
(the constitutional amendment that would limit the freedom to marry for same sex couples)

What it Means
·         A “yes” vote on the Marriage Amendment would insert a permanent ban on marriage between same sex couples into the Minnesota Constitution.
·         A “no” vote on the Marriage Amendment would not legalize same sex marriage. A “no” vote will maintain the Minnesota Constitution’s silence on the issue of same sex marriage.

Why Planned Parenthood opposes the Marriage Amendment
  • We believe that strong families are fundamental to strong and healthy communities.
  • We believe that people should be free to make life’s most profound choices about health care, childbearing and relationships in harmony with their dreams.
  • We support loving families in all of their relationship forms and we work to ensure that they are strong and secure.
For these reasons, and many others, we hope that you will vote “No” on the Marriage Amendment.
